About that duct tape…

(mentioned here)

I saw this and had to make one. I bought 24 of these (I wanted the 4X6 size but they were out and I’m impatient so I went for the 5X7′s instead) and then went crazy with the duct tape.

Final result?

  1. this is so awesome. truly. you’re my hero.

  2. i’m trying to figure out where I could put one in my house, I love yours so much!

  3. ditto Sabra…totally wracking my brain to figure out a great place for this. And is that a green apple picture? If so, where’d you get that? I love the color in that. (I can’t get the picture to open up so I can see it closer)

  4. love it! You need to make your pic clickable so we can see it bigger!

  5. It is a picture of green apples. There are (is?…I suck at grammar) also one of rocks and one of daisies. They’re scrapbooking paper from Joann’s. I just cut out 5X7 sized pieces and used them to break up some of the family-ness. How do I make the picture clicky? Anyone? Bueller?

  6. LOVE IT!!!
I am so going to copy you.

  7. That is so awesome! So, the duct tape is strong enough to hold it all together? How did you mount it on the wall? Are the frames paintable? (sorry for all my questions!)

  8. That is Duck Tape???? WOW!!! I love it!

  9. G, the duct tape is strong enough to hold them together. Those frames are really light and they have plastic in them instead of glass.

I used something called the Hangman Patented Picture Hanging System to hang them. They sell them at Lowe’s. I used three of the 6″ ones….one over the middle 2 frames and then one over the end two frames on each end. The screws that come with the product are a little long and will come through your frames if you screw them in all the way. You could get shorter screws or just be really careful and don’t screw them in all the way.

And, you probably could paint them. They come in black, red, yellow, green, and a few other colors. They might even come unfinished.

  10. Love it! I’m going to do something like that downstairs I think.

  11. love love it

My grandma has done something like this for years, except she uses wooden frames and binder clips. Love it!

  15. This is so cute!! Can you tell me how much the frames cost?

  16. This is wonderful! Once they’re all duct taped together I don’t imagine you can change out the pictures.
Is that right? This would be a great birthday gift for my granddaughter who has a black, white and Tiffany blue room
