Resolving, 2010 edition

A few of you may remember this post from last year.

I’m happy to report that I failed at 2 out of 3.

The one that I succeeded with? TOTALLY worth it.

What am I resolving this year?

“Buy more lamps!”

Yes, really.

You see, lamps are something way out of my comfort zone. They’re foreign to me. We probably only have 3 in my entire house, and 2 of them aren’t actually plugged in. So, this year I resolve to “buy more lamps”….in other words, try more things I wouldn’t usually do and step out of that comfort zone a little.

And look!

I really did buy a lamp.

What are you resolving?

  1. Can I just say that as a fellow Mormon your #2 from last year made me laugh so hard! I have a 4 year old parrot that is starting to tell and use all the bad language I have ever used around him. CRAP! I need to work on that too.

  2. I'm going to exercise better time management skills and actually get my crap done! I keep adding to my already long list…such as your cute ruffled onesie…I hope someone in my ward has a girl soon!

  3. The Scow's says:

    I LOVE LAMP!!!!

But anyway, i'm resolving to try and wake up every day with a better attitude. I am NOT a morning person, so i'm going to see if I can force myself to become 1 in 2010. Wish me luck!!!

  4. The Harding Hive says:

Char, you are so great! I love you and I love your lamp. That is a perfect resolution!

  5. Like everyone on the planet – eat better, more healthfully. And take more time to be creative. I really did not "take time" to be very creative this past year.

    Love the lamp! ;o)

  6. Al, Wendy, Max, and Lil says:

I have lamps you could have. They are cute. One might not quite be your taste. I got them for such a good deal I've hung on to them for future clients. You are welcome to them. :)

  7. Mother 25 - 8 says:

My 2 year old once hit his car seat when we insisted he get buckled in and yelled, "BAMMIT!" My husband heard and let me remind you, he's the "spiritual" one of the 2 of us and it horrified him. He asked, "Do you have hard days at home?" That was 7 years ago. He has since learned that at least I've backed off the REAL bad words. I have yet to cuss infront of my MIL. That'll be as entertaining for me as Christmas on steroids.
My NYR this year is just one. Cash only. Wanting to be Dave Ramsey Gazelles.
And Char, I love your blog.

  8. Trish Goodfield says:

To use the craft stuff I already have, find new ways to use stuff without buying anything new.

  9. Kristine Robinson says:

My big resolve – no tv on Sunday. We survived one sunday – and I am totally re-thinking that one. I have to actually entertain my kids – by myself! All joking aside, it was pretty nice. Good luck with the lamps!

  10. i like the lamps!
I would like to make my house more home-y. :)

  11. I resolve to get to your house and observe your new lighting.

and I'd like to know which of the three you fulfilled, please.

  12. Char @ Crap I've Made says:

    Sabe, the FHE one.
