Since I was going to be too late for Valentine’s Day…

You’ve all seen this fabulous wreath over at The Idea Room, right? Apparently every store in Utah is now sold out of heart shaped wreath forms.

I’ve developed a bit of a felt obsession as of late and came up with this instead:

It’s not too early for St. Patrick’s Day, is it?

I found styrofoam hearts at Michael’s for $1 each and then I glued them together like this:

I tried using Tacky Glue on account of my glue gun being MIA, but it didn’t hold. I found a mini glue gun still in the package buried in my sewing room and used that instead.

Here’s a shot of the back:

I used about 288 circles (from 2 36” X 36” pieces of felt) and pins.

288 circles of felt,,,oiya I'm tired just thinking about all that work.

  2. That is such a great idea. You could even do each heart a different color so that they looked even more like hearts.

  3. love it. i was trying to think about st. patricks day decor the other day and mostly came up blank.

  4. That is a super cute idea, and you're right…I can't find a heart shaped wreath anywhere!

cute idea! I loved that wreath at idea room. Did you notice that the hanging balls she did looked like bath scrubbies, though?

  13. I love it! It looks great! My St. Patrick's Day decorations are non-existent. I would love to make one for my door, but my hand has not forgiven me for the abuse taken cutting the circles for the heart wreath! Thanks for the link! It was fun for me to see my name on your site!! Love your stuff!

  14. I love it! I've made some wreaths with shamrocks, but I'd like to make something like your felt shamrock. That's a LOT of circles to cut out though!!

  15. Char @ Crap I've Made says:

It honestly wasn't that bad! I used my rotary cutter to cut 3" squares and then rounded off the corners with my squares stacked 4 at a time.
