A lot of stores now sell eggs that are dyeable with no food inside. Example would be walmart…look in their easter/seasonal aisle.

Why couldn’t you blow the eggs, and then dye them, they would be beautiful in a bowl, or maybe hot glued toa wreath. Then use the eggs for baking or poaching for breakfast.

If you’re worried about not wasting the contents of the egg, you could always blow out the egg yolk and white, and just dye the shell. Still pretty, no waste.

I LOVE this idea…and wouldn’t worry about eating them myself…(the kids could eat the “safer” ones). I’m 62 years old and we ate a lot of the things that now scare you youngsters. (sissies…lol) We used to use gold spray paint and have really cool looking eggs…and we ATE them too. *gasp!* I’m still living with no health problems except Rheumatoid Arthritis, which is hereditary. I had some rubber cement in the house…yes, you can still get it…I found it at my GROCERY store with the school supplies. Wish I had seen this before Easter…and I didn’t dye eggs until the night before, either!

parafin wax is used in canning to seal jars, it is meant to be near food so this could be an alternative. You would find this with the canning supplies in your local grocery shop
