Want to see what I made with the heat transfer they sent me?

It’s a skirt (more on that later this week…SUPER simple tutorial, another reason you’ll want to make one).

I used the heat transfer to add the detailing.

I’m flying home from Kentucky today.  Last night we went to Churchill Downs.  Here’s a shot of Lorie and me on the bus in our Derby hats:

  1. I live in Louisville so I hope that you had a wondeful time while you were here! We’re proud of our little horse race :-)

  2. You look really cute in that hat!

  3. Ooh, you sassy ladies! Love the hats! And that skirt is adorbs!

  4. Hi! Do you have any problems with the heat transfer material adhering all the way to the fabric? It seems like I always have trouble getting the whole thing to take – usually it either doesn’t want to come off the backing at all or the edges don’t stick – just wondering if you have any tips on this?

that skirt is adorable – never thought to use the heat transfer that way!

Shannon, I do occasionally. The pink this time was especially difficult for me. I think part of it was that it was my last color and I was out of patience. Silhouette also told me that the proper iron temperature is essential. Your (my) natural reaction to crank the heat up is bad news!

  5. What lovely ladies and even lovelier hats!

  6. That flower border is awesome.

And you are totally channeling Eliza Doolittle in that last pic :)

  7. I bought a Silhouette last night! HOOT HOOT!!! Before your discount code, I would have paid over $329.00….thanks for the code!

  8. It was so great to meet you and hang out for a bit to explore before our late flights! It was tons of fun & thank you for putting up with my search for the elusive (but necessary!) item! :)

  9. Your hat was super fabulous!

I am missing the bed at 21C. SO comfortable!
