Love the article, especially the pictures! I was on here looking for padded headboard tutorials, and came across you. Although I’m doing something different, your detailed photos showed me how to attach the headboard to the bed which is something everyone else refers to, but doesn’t actually show a decent shot of. I’m a really visual person. It’s how I learn, think and everything else. Without that one piece of the puzzle, I’ve been putting off making my headboard. No more delays!

gotta love the hard to describe jobs! My hubby’s cousin went to school with me and when the class was asked what their dads’ jobs were, his answer was “A stripper.” LOL imagine the teacher’s face! And I mean he was a short sturdy half-bald man of good repute so she was pretty perplexed! Well, part of his job included stripping down used printing press plates… lol.
Now, if you were to ask me what my husband does for a living, i’d automatically say ‘he owns and operates a foundations&basements company.’ but if you were to ask me to tell you what he actually DOES, I’d mumble something about grade beams and pouring basments and forms and then mutter that I don’t actually understand half as much of what he tells me as I pretend to. Buuuuut he doesn’t know what a selvedge is. So there.

we’ve needed a headboard for… ever. never had one, but it’s creeping to the top of the fix-up list. i was thinking tufted, but now i can’t stop thinking how cool that would look with our king-sized bed…
