Math, Lady Gaga Style + download

Little known secret:  Macy is a math nerd.

Like, (proud mom brag alert) she’s taking 8th grade honors math next year and skipping the whole 7th grade math scene completely.

And, last Thursday, she participated in the Math Olympics.

The plan was for her to wear a dorky math related t-shirt.  So, after much Google-ing and debate (“5 out of 4 people don’t understand fractions”, “No, I will not do your math”, etc.), we made one with my Silhouette CAMEO™ and a heat transfer starter kit.

If you haven’t tried the heat transfer yet, you really should…you’ll be hooked.  The hilarious t-shirt possibilities alone make it worth your while.  (Remember when I made myself one that said “WORST MOM EVER”?  He he he.)

What did we decide on?

The font I used is Arial.  The font size is different on each line.

To save you some work, I’ve uploaded it for you hereDon’t forget to reverse the image before cutting it out of heat transfer!

When it came right down to it, she wussed out

and wore something completely normal instead.

I said the OUTFIT was completely normal.  She, obviously, is not (takes after her mother).  Winking smile

Hooray for girl math nerds! I was one once (still am and even have that clock, which I LOVE). Your t-shirt is too clever and I’m glad I discovered your blog, if only for the awesome name.

  7. I’m new to the blogging world and I somehow landed on your site. What a hoot! I love the name, and your humor, not to mention your great ideas too. I can’t wait to read more!

I love this shirt! I think I need to make it for the math teacher on my team at school, because she’d totally get it, and probably have the whole class sing along (so I’ll have to come up with some sort of science shirt to match it :) ). Thanks so much for sharing the file!

  10. I follow the Silhouette on Pinterest.

  11. Meggan V says:

I love it! I am a TOTAL math nerd. (As in ..I am an English teacher because there is no way I could teach math because I can’t understand why people don’t “get it” kinda nerd)

I will be making one of these :)

  12. That shirt is freakin awesome- and hilarious! :) I would have backed out of wearing it, too… only because I stink at math! LOL!!

  13. I love the Gaga shirt!!! I actually downloaded the file you shared, but I couldn’t find a program on my computer to view/print it :-( My 9yr old is a math lover as well, and would wear that shirt on any given day because she’s a huge Lady Gaga fan. The clock is also very cool.

  20. She is such an adorable Math Nerd….

  21. I am also a math teacher and love the t-shirt and clock. Did you make the clock as well? If not, where can I get it!

  22. Hi. I LOVE the Lady Gaga shirt!!! I recently got a Cameo but haven’t had a chance to make anything yet but I’d really like to use my Cameo to decorate a sage green comforter or duvet cover with some cherry blossom designs using the Cameo heat transfer set but I have 4 dogs that are constantly on my bed. Needless to say, my bedding gets washed very often. I was wondering If any of the projects you’ve made using the iron on heat transfer set made for the silhouette cameo have been washed numerous times and if so, have the designs remained securely attached? I’d much rather iron on the design than spend tons of time sewing the designs on but not if the designs are going to start to come off after a few washes. Thanks in advance for answering my question and for all the wonderful project tutorials!
