Vote and vote some more

The projects for the final round (home décor) of CWTS are now up. My partner Lindy is one of the 3 finalists. I can’t tell you which one is hers, but I’ll tell that there is no way I could have pulled it off, especially on such a tight schedule.

Go here to vote! Voting ends TONIGHT at 10pm MST.

The top 10 in the Knock It Off contest over at 733 has been announced. It was insanely difficult to narrow it down because all the projects were SO different from one another. Seriously…how to you compare a wedding dress to a rhino?

Go here to vote! Voting ends Friday.

Me? I’ve got big plans to haul a kid to the doctor. Again. And not either of the ones that were sick over the weekend/yesterday.

Confused smile

Happy (?) Valentine’s Day!

So how was your weekend?

We had impetigo.

And puking.

Fun, right?

I took an insanely awesome photography class from the amazing Emilie of Photo by Emilie. We got to practice on real people. Scary!

More on that later.

I also hit up a fun little consignment store called Abode. More on that later, too.

We made some Valentine boxes. Keller went the safe route with this bucket he decorated with stickers.

(His shirt is some heat transfer and a robot design from Silhouette.)

Macy went the insane route with this little beauty:

And then she started puking, so *I* got to take it to school and present it to her teacher this morning.

My 2 big kids made these sucker moustache Valentines from Family Fun.

Campbell decorated his box at school, but he NEEDED a shirt. So, we busted out the freezer paper and the Silhouette and some of my new favorite product, Tulip Soft Fabric Paint.

Got any big plans? I mean, bigger than taking care of sick kids and doing laundry…

Amy Peters’ Studio Winner

The winner of the the Amy Peters’ Studio  giveaway is…

#152, aka Anne, who said:

I LOVE that Amy has products to sell that donate to various charitable causes like Designs That Give Back and Maggie Lee…For Good. I like the create charm, the penny for your thoughts necklace, and the life is a journey bracelet. If I had that gift certificate, I’s definitely get a Maggie Lee charm and probably the airplane necklace from Designs That Give Back. That way I’d have something that would also mean that someone else benefits, too. Anne, yourmainestamper

Flickr Feature Friday

First up, today is the last day to enter to win a $75 gift certificate to Amy Peters’ Studio.  Go here, if you wanna.

Second,  CONGRATULATIONS to my partner Lindy who made it through Round 3 of CWTS with this fairy clock.

People, she built that whole thing.  Like, from a dollar store picture frame and mad skillz scratch!  The theme for the FINAL round is home décor.  I’ll be sure to let you know when you can go vote!

And now for the feature!

Did you know Crap I’ve Made has a Flickr group? You can find the link at any time up on my menu bar under Crap You’ve Made. If it’s easier (because I’m all about the easy), you can post your pics to the Crap I’ve Made Facebook page, instead. Go add your stuff! Please?

Projects from the Flickr group and the Facebook page will be featured on Fridays.

I HAD to feature this piano bag from julie-lynn.  (If you have a blog you want me to link to, holler!)  She used my piano bag tutorial with the applique flap option.

The owl fabric is KILLING me with cuteness!

And she personalized it,too.

I’ve got a full day tomorrow and it’s blog related.  I’ll show and tell you about it soon!

And what a year it’s been.

This is the year we learned about SPD.

This is the year we learned about Asperger’s.

This is the year you told us you could ride a bike without training wheels

(and you were RIGHT).

This is the year you took swimming lessons and faced your fear of water head on.

This is the year you scored your first goal.

This is also the year you tricked your mother into buying you an Ed Hardy shirt.

You take the good with the bad, right?

Happy birthday, Campbell.

TOAD-ally awesome Valentines

TOAD-ally awesome printable, available here. (I ordered prints from my local warehouse club for 13 cents each.) You can personalize your own kid’s name at the bottom in Picnik (free) using Cheri’s fabulous tutorial. The font is “You Are Loved” and the color is FF71A3. Or, you could have your kid sign them.

Toy frogs. I found mine at Zurcher’s. They were $2.49 for 12.

And adhesive of some sort. I used the 3D Zots because the little froggy hands were not flat and they mushed into the dots well.

Put a glue dot on each frog hand (I keep wanting to call them paws) and then stick them in place.

Result? A boy friendly Valentine for about 35 cents!

My Master Bedroom

I’ve gotten some requests to see the rest of my house…a home tour of sorts. I can’t promise it’ll occur in a timely manner or even that I’ll get to every room, but I’ll see what I can do to give you a little peek every now and then.

And here’s my disclaimer: I don’t love my master bedroom. It’s not ME. Perhaps if I loved it I would have taken the time to move BC’s CPAP machine off of his bedside table? Winking smile

My master bedroom is large. It’s one of the main reasons we bought this house. In our old place you couldn’t even walk all the way around our queen bed.

I fell in love with the Farmhouse Canopy Bed from Pottery Barn

but I didn’t love the price (hint: well over $1600 with shipping).

Our bed came from The Wood Connection (a local unfinished furniture store) and is solid maple. We paid them to finish it for us and still came in under half price.

And, the other end…

Eventually we’ll get the outlet moved and the cords under control. It’s only been 7 years so far…

So what’s the point of this post?

I have no idea!

You asked and I like to encourage voyeurism?

Maybe you can make me love my bedroom?

Maybe this will motivate me to finally frame the TV and do something about the cords?

Maybe you learned that unfinished furniture stores are a great way to knock off Pottery Barn furniture for less?

See you tomorrow?

Open-mouthed smile

    Giveaway: Amy Peters’ Studio

I’m excited to welcome a new sponsor to Crap I’ve Made!

Amy Peters has been designing jewelry since she was 8! (Tangent: just the thought of Keller attempting that has me giggling like an idiot. We all come with different talents, right?) She’s been designing as Amy Peters’ Studio, since 1995. Amy says “I want the designs to be inspirational and to be keepsakes and talismans for everyday life. I especially love the time in a girl’s life when she is just finding her voice, My hope is that my designs can help them along their voyage.”

Let me share some of my favorites with you!

This is the family tags necklace. I love how personal it can become.

And these stacking rings are so simple and pretty!

The Pewter Simple Secrets bracelets are great, too.
