Giveaway: Silhouette Cameo! (+ current promotion info)

It’s baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

The nice folks at Silhouette offered to let me give away another Cameo and I jumped at the chance…I know how many of you are dying to get your hands on one.

The Cameo is the new and improved personal craft cutter from Silhouette.  The Cameo connects to your computer allowing you to cut fonts and images in cardstock, vinyl, heat transfer material, fabric, etc.  I was a HUGE fan of the Silhouette SD and I wondered just how much better the Cameo could be.  The answer:  WAY WAY WAY better.  In addition to the bigger cutting area, it’s quieter.  The blade adjustment is easier and you don’t have to worry about losing the little caps.  Your media loads SO much easier and there’s a pause button.  The display is lighted, in case you like to craft in the dark.  ;)

If you’re not feeling lucky and NEED to get your hands on one, here are the details on the current Silhouette promotion:

D7K_7908
Fabric Ink Starter Kit

Silhouette Cameo + Fabric Ink Starter Kit for $299 using code “CRAP”.  This promotion is valid December 29th thru January 5th.  You can wait and see if you win or you can order now.  Supplies for this month’s promo are limited.  (Add the machine and the kit to your cart separately and then use the code at check out.)  If you already have a machine (The SD or the Cameo) and just want to get your hands on some of the ink, code “CRAP” gets you 20% off any of the ink supplies (starter kit included).

WANT TO TAKE YOUR CHANCES AND TRY TO WIN ONE?  HERE’S WHAT COULD BE IN IT FOR YOU:

One lucky Crap I’ve Made reader will win her (or his) very own Cameo!

Neighbor gifts? Check.

D7K_8621

That’s a whole box of neighbor gifts packaged for delivery.  We took care of delivering most of them last night, but Macy got cold.  Perhaps she should break out the super cute coat she begged her mother for and now will not wear “because it makes me look like Big Bird”, ey?

I giggled when I looked at the gifts and realized that the tags were part Pick Your Plum (the name stamps) and part Silhouette (the brown tags).  The bakers twine is also Pick Your Plum.  The crinkly packing stuff was reused from a package Lowe’s sent me (more on that in the next week or so!).  And, I even used my Silhouette software to format the pictures of Jesus and print them the correct size.  Hope my neighbors enjoyed a very bloggy Christmas.  Winking smile

I’ll be pumping a kid full of antibiotics (strep…whee!) and enjoying my family for a few days.  I hope you enjoy this holiday season with those you love.

XOXOXO

(And the Christmas cards will be late.  Ha!)

A couple of winners

I kid you not…the school called me this morning to come pick up a sick kid.  This was a kid who had not puked since Saturday (and did not puke…totally seems fine, fighting with his brothers).

*sigh*

And of course I was 30 minutes from home at the time.  BC cancelled a meeting and ran to pick him up.

My husband may not have a Christmas present if this keeps up.

*one more sigh*

At least I’d already been to Starbucks for my salted caramel hot chocolate?  Open-mouthed smile

The winner of the SNAP! ticket is Charlie from Attempting Aloha.

The winner of $25 to PartyLite is Shannon.  Please check your email and respond ASAP!

Is this thing on?

Well hello there, internet.

Did you think I’d died?

Tangent: Do you ever wonder if anyone would know if you died?  I mean like anyone on the internet.  No?  Just me?

We had a whole lot of puking going on ‘round these parts.  And, no one (NOT A ONE OF THEM) managed to hit the toilet even once.  We had puke on our sister.  We had puke in the van.  We had puke in a parking lot.  But the toilet?  Nope.  Not even close.

I’m dreadfully behind.

There’s nothing like a week of house arrest the week before Christmas to really screw up your plans.  No neighbor gifts have been handed out.  No Christmas cards have been addressed.  No presents for BC have been purchased.

But rhe washer on “steam sanitize” ‘round the clock for a week straight?  TOTALLY accomplished. Open-mouthed smile

So, I’m popping in to remind you that the SNAP! Conference ticket giveaway ends tonight.  I’ll be closing the PartyLite giveaway then, too.

I also wanted to give you a heads up about a super awesome giveaway coming your way next week (Thursday, the 29th) that could make up for the toaster your husband got you for Christmas, instead of what you really wanted.  Trust me…you REALLY want this.

XOXOXO

See you soon!

Glitter Ornaments

A few weeks ago I saw my friend Kristine McKay (of My Craft Channel fame) on Studio 5 (local morning show) doing a segment on glitter.  Macy’s been INSISTENT that our tree needs more white glitter, so the ornaments that Kristine made sounded like the perfect solution.  Plus, they were simple enough that I could make Macy make them herself.  Open-mouthed smile

D7K_8615

Basically, you pour some floor cleaner in an ornament, swirl it around, dump out the excess, add glitter, and shake.

I love how they look like frosty snowballs and aren’t super in your face glittery.  If you want SUPER glittery, you can for sure achieve that with a different color of glitter.  Check out these over on Things That Sparkle!

You can watch Kristine’s segment here.

Have you made any ornaments this year?

High Waisted Skirt Tutorial, revisited

Way back in August last year, I posted my high waisted skirt tutorial.

DSC_0684

I combined it with a 2 seam tutu to get this look:

DSC_0577

It’s probably my favorite skirt I’ve ever created (and it sews up SUPER quickly), but it kind of got lost in the shuffle last year….something about giving away a Silhouette that week, I think.  Winking smile

I decided to use that tutorial to make Macy’s Christmas skirt this year.

The result?

D7K_8572

True love.

The little red ribbon tied around the waist was the perfect finishing touch.

The only change I made from the original tutorial was that I increased the length of the skirt pieces to 24”.  Someone’s grown 5” in the last year, and it’s mostly leg.

D7K_8591

So, give this one a second look, will ya?
