Have you looked through your Pottery Barn holiday catalog yet? I did. And I remembered how well my ornament knock offs turned out last year.
(Click on the pictures to go to the tutorials)
Which made me feel all crafty and inspired.
And I decided to attempt to replicate these:
I’m not sure exactly where I went wrong. But “wrong” is definitely where I went.
Go ahead and laugh…I am.
Check back tomorrow for a weekend giveaway and the winner of the RHB Designs gift certificate!

If you’re not in Utah, this post will be of absolutely no use to you, but I have to talk about Emilie.

A while back I won a Halloween photo shoot on the Oh Sweet Sadie blog. I *really* wanted Campbell and Bennett in the pics together on account of their theme-y costumes, but Campbell has a bit of a “history” with getting pictures taken.

We left a studio after an hour without a single shot taken one Christmas. And the photographer actually told me it was Campbell’s fault.
He doesn’t like people touching him or talking to him. Add the bright lights to the mix? It’s all over.
“Normal” family pictures are one of those things you take for granted until you have a kid that just can’t handle it.

I expressed my concerns to Emilie and she told me she had lots of experience with special needs kids and to bring him. She even scheduled us right before lunch, just in case. (And remember…I hadn’t even paid for this photo shoot.)

And guess what?

She’s magic. Not a single melt down. No rolling around on the ground. No trying to eat his shirt.

If you’re a local, give Emilie a call, ESPECIALLY if you have kids with special needs. I think I have a crush on her.
Would it be creepy if I signed up for her class at Oh Sweet Sadie Academy? ![]()

Which means it’s time to put up the thankful tree.
Only this year I might get all crazy and use my Silhouette to cut out the leaves….
Voting for round 2 of Crafting With The Stars is up. You can vote for your top 3 favorite projects. Once again, I can’t tell you which one belongs to my partner Emily, but GO VOTE!
And, last but not least, today is the beginning of Handmade Holidays over on Sew, Mama, Sew!
They always have FABULOUS stuff (and you might even recognize a thing or two you’ve seen around here).
So, happy November?

And the winner is…

A “dirty hobo”. HUGE thanks to my friend and neighbor Kristine for taking care of this one for me. (Don’t tell Keller but I think he kind of looks like that creeper that kidnapped Elizabeth Smart.)

The winner of 3 craft kits from Makia Creations is….
#115 aka Danielle who said “i love the turkey one. I don’t have very much in decorations for thanksgiving, this would be perfect!”
Danielle, shoot me an email to [email protected] and your craft kids will be on their way!

My Makia Creations project and review will be up later today. I had to run out for a couple of supplies and I was out of daylight by the time I got finished.
In the mean time, enjoy these pictures of my fam at the pumpkin patch.

12 days ‘til Halloween.
And guess when I started costumes.
Yesterday.
I’d made some good progress by lunch time.
And after lunch, I got the trim on the jacket and the zipper put in.
And Santa’s pants are done, too.
Santa’s jacket is close…just needs fur on the bottom.
Heaven help me with the elf shoes! Any tutorials for THAT? LOL!
