Slipcover for IKEA chair

My mom and I ripped apart a plain white slipcover and used it as a pattern for this one. It took us most of 2 days on account of serious OCD tendencies and a need to have the checks lined up perfectly. Would I do it again? Maybe. And don’t look too closely….it still needs to be hemmed.

That’s one of the best ‘silpcovers’ I have ever seen! It kind of has that picnic blanket feel to it. As long as you can eat chicken and corn on there, I’m in for one.

LOVE it. You guys did a really great job. I have a thing for checks and gingham, oh, and red too. :)

  3. That looks awesome!! I need to recover a ‘new to us’ chair- but I’m going to try to trade cake to get it done by someone else- I don’t have your mad skilz.

  4. I was going to leave a memory- but I’m also a space cadet. I was/am so grateful for your help in that (first of many) moves.

I remember the first time I met you in Jen S’s living room when Keller was a baby and you had a broken knee cap. That seems like eons ago.

  5. Amazing. It is and you are :p

Fabulous! I would have been sloppy and let the checks fall where they may.

that is SO cute!! what would i have to do to get you to make one for me?

  8. Hi! Your chair looks lovely. I’m toying with the idea of reupholstering a jennylund that needs repurposing in my house… Any chance you could estimate how much fabric it took? It might help me decide whether or not I should give it a try. Thank you for sharing your experience!

  9. I would also like to know how much fabric you used. It looks really great!
