1 cup ammonia
1/2 cup vinegar
1 gallon hot water
1/4 cup baking soda
Mix together and wash your walls. No rinsing is required.
We tried this on Saturday. I made half a batch and put it in spray bottles and turned the kids loose. It appears to have worked pretty well. If my paint starts peeling off in the next couple of weeks, I’ll be sure to let you know.

SO excited to give this one a try… I’ve been on a homemade cleaner for everything kick and NEED a good wall cleaner.
I’m going to whip a batch of this up – - send your kids down to my house with their spray bottles, they could have my whole house done in no time. If the paint peels off, then you can send them back down with rollers and brushes.
I think I’ll wait a few weeks to give it a try.
Really, I can’t wait to try this–my walls are in need of a good cleaning!
Thanks for posting this! I was just noticing how nasty my walls are, especially at the 2-3 ft. level.
Yeah – I even have spray bottles! Dumb question – what did you use to wipe the walls with? Where do you come up with these things?? I want my brain to work like yours.
The kids just used rags. I buy those bundles of cheap washcloths at Target and then just junk them when they get too ratty.
And I remembered hearing about this cleaner on TV a long, long time ago, so I Googled it.
If it can clean off Stoggie’s slobber I am in!
Char, what don’t you do? I swear you make everything. You are amazing! So Istill haven’t found a big pot for my sticks. If you see anything let me know. Speaking of pots and sticks, how is Cambells pooh, anything else yet? any world records?
