10 years ago right now (5 am MST), I woke up 42 weeks and 2 days pregnant and waddled to the bathroom. And my water exploded broke.
I remember:
Soaking a pair of pants on the drive to the hospital.
Walking laps for 4 hours and still not having a single contraction.
Dropping the f-bomb when BC made me watch Babe whilst I was in labor. Who knew those singing mice would make me so mad?
The first words out of my mom’s mouth being “Oh my hell she’s huge!” (In my mom’s defense, she kinda was — 9lbs 5oz, 22.5”.)
Not being able to sleep that first night because I was so enamored with her.
And I still am.

you made it to 42wks and 2 days? I was miserable at 41 weeks! I slightly remember wanting to kill people that were talking when I was trying to sleep during labor. (…my mother in law…)

I loved being a "decade" old! I never said ten- decade was the age! I had an awful miscarriage this week, it is a reminder how miraculous healthy babies are.

That story is sweet. All but the 42.2 weeks pregnant and the 9lb 5 oz sized baby. I totally know how that feels, Its not fun. I've been induced with both mine and one was 9.12oz and the second was 10 lbs 14oz (I KNOW)I've got a 3rd on the way, heaven help me.
Anyway, Happy birthday to your cute girl who, like my 10 year old daughter, would do practically anything for a pair of shoes.

Ten is a magical age. Three of my granddaughters are ten and I'm so in love with them I can hardly believe they are for real. And they are real. Last week two of them had a two hour plus waterfight. I never had so much fun as watching them. Happy birthday to a magical girl embarking into the double digets.
Your daughter is beautiful. Ten isn't a great age for most girls….I think that is so nicely refered to as the "awkward" age. NOT with your daughter. So pretty.
