Personally, I don't dress up for Halloween and haven't since I was about six or seven years old. Now that I have children, I'm not opposed to dressing up as a family, but don't hold your breath to find me in a costume, lol!

I would love to have a checkbook cover {so I wouldn't feel like such a reject every time I pull out my checkbook ~ you know people look at you funny when you write a check for groceries these days!} but, knowing me, I would either get a headband or set of three hair clips for my girls.
I would get a notebook cover for my daughter who journals all the time. I think it is fun when adults dress up for Halloween. I don't do much with Halloween, just not a holiday for me. But… i love winter and Christmas!

i struggle with adults dressing up. i mean, i really, really struggle. i adore halloween, and intend to dress up with the kiddos every year, but then i always back out at the last minute and just throw on a pink, bobbed wig instead.

I always enjoyed dressing up for Halloween as a kid, and to be honest, if I had more time now, I'd like to dress up to answer the door on Halloween night. But all my energy gets taken up in creating costumes for my little ones. They're only 1 and 4 years old now, but as they get older, I want to get them in the habit of using their imaginations and repurposing things that we have around the house to create their own costumes as opposed to going out and buying ready-made. Fostering creativity and a sense of craft, I guess you'd say. Anyways, I love dressing up, I just never get the chance anymore.

It depends on the costume. I can't stand dressing up for Halloween unless it's subtle. Like last year I went as Rogue from X-men. All I wore was gloves, a long jacket, scarf, a dog-tag, and a little white hair spray in the front. My husband went as Sabertooth. His outfit was similar – a long trenchcoat, dog-tags, and he bought some realistic looking fangs. And voila! It was the first time we dressed up since we got married – 9 years ago … normally we're the ones mocking the other adults who dress up. But I do have to say, it was pretty fun.

And to answer your question – about grownups dressing up for Halloween… We're going to a costume party this year. It's only our 3rd time EVER dressing up. First time was before we had kids and we went as Men in Black (boy that dates me). Second time was last year, and was our first year invited to this annual costume party. I was Marie Antoinette and Andrew was a king (by the tiem I was done with my costume I didn't really care how he looked, lol). This year we are going as an angel and a devil. Which one do you think I will be??? Lol. I'm not into the family themed costumes, but I like to have fun dressing up with Andrew.

I'm all for adults dressing up for Halloween…however, I must say I only like it if it's not racy or obscene. I don't want to see any sexy nurses running around my neighborhood. Maybe for an adults only party that would be appropriate, but not around kids. My husband and I dressed up as the Flintstones when we only had our first daughter. We went trick-or-treating with our friends who went as the Rubbles with their son who was about the same age as our daughter. We got TONS of complements!

I dress up with my kids in theme. We have done scooby doo and I was Velma. We have done princess(me) knight, and dragon. Princess, knight, wizard, dragon(had another kid to add in and whated to reuse a custome). I think it's fun, and for now my kids don't mind.

Im running my first half marathon and to prepare, one of my best girlfriends and I are running in a local 10 miler Christmas Run on Dec 13th.
