Feel like shopping this weekend?

Want to spend some of my money? (Sort of.)

My living room needs a new rug. You see, when we got hardwood floors a year or so ago, I blew the entire rug budget for both rooms on this beauty for my family room.

My living room has been making do with a cheapy sisal type rug that smells like hay. Still. 1.5 years later.

I put off buying this rug from IKEA so long that it was discontinued.

I think I still want orange, but I could be persuaded otherwise…

The couches are denim, the floors are dark maple, the walls are khaki and the woodwork/bookcases are white. The accessories are all negotiable.

And stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow!

Totally off topic… but wow I love LOVE ♥LOVE♥ your baby blue piano! Did you paint it yourself? I have a tired old upright gathering dust in the garage – I wonder if hubby will let me drag (or rather have him do the dragging) it inside if I spruced it up???
Loving your 'crap' and am now off to follow you about – If you get a chance stop by and say hi and have a little looksey…

You could get a floorcloth canvas and paint whatever you want on it. I bought one 3 years ago and have yet to unfurl it.

  4. Having seen that room ;), I think you should look at the current selection of rugs at Garnet Hill. So many possibilities for you there, imo.

  5. I do like the current rug for all the colors it brings, it looks like it pulls all the pieces of furniture together, but if it smells like hay, it must go, like you said. No one wants to feel like they are sitting in a barn, right? :)
I do like the orange, I think that will really make the floors pop. Have fun shopping.

  6. Let me understand — that rug (pictured) is in your family room and you want to replace the one in a DIFFERENT room, correct?

I love this and I think it'd look smashing against your dark wood and the denim.

You're so creative, why don't you make a rug, out of a piece of canvas? You could incorporate photos of you and your family & stamp an orange design, in the background. It would look really cool, if the photos were in black & white. This would also let you make the rug the exact size that you want & you could just use a rubber rug mat, for keep it from sliding…

This rug is a MUST!! And a fantastic price too – on sale!

  11. I have to know the details on the pictured rug. It is just what I have been searching for!

  12. Anastasia says:

Too funny, before reading your entry, my eyes went immediately to the rug and I started wondering where you got it! Then to read you want to replace it.

Good luck with your search. I'd love to have the one you already have. lol Too bad I don't have one I could trade with that you might like. That would be fun!

  13. Heather at Happy Chippy Junk says:

I've seen the IKEA rug on KSL.com not to long ago. You're in Utah right!?
