As this posts, I’ll be at the big reveal party. Because there were a limited number of spots and because many of you are not local, we’re sharing it with you at the same time.
Come on in!
To the right we have the office, done by the fabulous Jen of tatertots & jello. The details and how to’s for all of her projects will be on her site.
To the left is the formal living room, courtesy of designer extraordinaire (notice how I didn’t use “”, Brian?) Brian Clark.
And on the wall you can’t see, there’s a delightful family tree project that Jen and I got to help him execute. We’ll talk more about that later (like next week…this post is going to be 8000 miles long as is).
Let’s go down the hall.
That delightful barn door and the mudroom just beyond it are the work of Amy from The Idea Room. She’ll be sharing the details of her projects over there in the coming days.
And further down the hall, you’re greeted with the family room (on your left) and the kitchen (on your right) which are both the work of designer Brian Clark.
And just around the corner there in the kitchen is the dining area, featuring a pantry of epic proportions, by none other than Shelley from House of Smiths.
Upstairs is where things start to get crazy on account of me and Lara from Less Cake {more frosting} being on the case.
In no particular order, we worked on a nursery, a boy’s room, and a room inspired by the Make-A-Wish Foundation wish of a local girl who kicked cancer’s butt.
Lara and I will get into the details of our projects in the coming days/weeks, but here’s a look at our rooms.
The Nursery
(Crib from a reader and rehabbed by me, bedding sewed by me, art made by me with some design assistance from Lara, curtains modified by me)
(Freezer paper stenciled pillow, cut with my Silhouette CAMEO, pom pom trim from Pick Your Plum)
(Changing table purchased use for $20, rehabbed by me, broken board replaced, mis-matched shelves covered)
The Boy’s Room
(Valance and sham by me, duvet modifications by Lara, headboard by me, art by designer)
The Make-A-Wish Room
Ciearra’s wish was to go to New York and be a fashion model. This room incorporates her dream and her favorite color…purple. Brian also included pops of lime green, which is the color for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (the type of cancer Ciearra had). You’ll find the word “courage” a few different places in the room. This is in honor of Ciearra’s courage fighting cancer. Any girl brave enough to walk into her first day of junior high 2 weeks late with no hair gets 1,000,000 courage points from me.
(Headboard by Lara, art above headboard by Lara, photos above desk from Ciearra’s photo shoot with Nigel Barker)
(One of the images from Ciearra’s photo shoot was abstracted and then painted tone on tone on the wall)
In addition to the kids’ rooms, upstairs you will find the laundry room, also by Amy of The Idea Room,
and the master bedroom by designer Brian Clark.
I love his non-traditional take on board and batten.
The yard was designed by our friend Cynthia Bee over at the Conservation Garden Park and includes some fun expected touches like an arbor made from old doors
and a hanging daybed with a magazine holder made from a basket.
Thanks for coming on the tour. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I loved every second of it. Who gets to do this with some of their favorite people on Earth???
If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer.
See you soon with details on some of my projects!
Holy. Holy… everything. I love it! Congrats to you for pulling off such a huge project in such an awesome way! You did great, I’m so excited! Like a proud mama, except I’m not your mom.
My sister’s name is Melanie. That’s close enough, right?
You guys rocked that, Char! Way to go. I love it all and can’t wait to see the details!
Gorgeous!
Wow! Beatiful house and great bedrooms! Can you tell me where you found the round sparkly chandelier in girl’s room?
It came from Overstock.com and I believe it was around $170. The designer picked it up.
I *think* it’s this one: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Chrome-Crystal-4-light-Round-Ceiling-Chandelier/4737578/product.html

Stunning! Love the bright colors and attention to unique details. This looks like a house put together from my Pinterest board. Perfect! I know you’ll be super busy but when you have a minute could you let me know where the purple bedding in the ‘Make a Wish’ room came from. I’m looking for a gathered comforter like that for my daughter’s room right now. Thanks Char!
It came from Bed Bath & Beyond. http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=130073&COL=506
You girls did an amazing job!!! Congratulations on such a fun and beautiful project!!!
You guys did such a GOOD job! Seriously! It was SO amazing!!!

SO many favorites but the things i loved that you did were the crib, nursery plywood art and the pac man head board! So amazing! High five, Charlotte!
Looks fantastic!
Absolutely beautiful, Char!! What a fun thing you got to do here and I’m sure such an amazing opportunity for you!! Way to go!! Can’t wait to see it…in person!!
OK. The house came together so well! Everything looks great!!! It was fun to be able to see what you guys had done since I saw it last week. OK. Two questions. How did you make the headboard in the boy’s room? I love it! And where did Shelly get that chandelier over the kitchen table?
Wendy, It’s MDF on a frame made out of 2X8′s. The Pac Man detail is lath (from the garden center, $15 for a huge bundle). I’ll be doing a post about the headboard with details about how I laid it out soon.
And Brian the designer asked a friend of his to make the chandelier. The mans’ name is Bryan Bush.
Hi Char, great work on all your rooms. It is fun to see it complete. I keep a low profile but interested persons can visit http://politelyblunt.com to learn more about the chandelier I created for the dining room.
Loved all that you did Char! Would be your sister wife any day! So much fun working on this project with you!!
Gorgeous job on the house!
Where did that fantastic rug come from in the living room?
I am in love with the entire project. You guys did a great job and certainly inspired me to do some DIY projects of my own.
Char, y’all did SUCH a great job! I love every single room. I’ve spent half the day in my pjs looking at all of the pics on each person’s blog. Great ideas! Congratulations to all of you!!
The nursery looks fabulous Char! And the crib – you did wonders with it!!!
I love it! The deerhead, I mean family tree, is so fun.
Kelsey- I loved the rug in the living room too so I have already asked Brian about it. I was told it came from Overstock dot com and, as I recall, they got a pretty good price on it too (under $300 I think?)
you did a lovely job! any chance you can tell me what the color is on the walls. the main greige? Thanks!
It’s called Silver Fox and I think it’s Benjamin Moore.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! congratulations to all of you1 that house rocks!
I would like to know what is on the wall and ceiling in the boys room? are those tiles? how did you adhere them?
Foam core. We cut 3″ squares of foam core (white and black and painted a few of the white ones with orange spray paint) and they’re stuck up there with that ticky tack stuff.
WOW Char!!!! AWESOME!! I saw your instagram pics, so I knew it was going to be incredible, but you ladies did a fantastic job! The nursery is absolutely adorable!! I am not shocked.. at all, how wonderful everything turned out.. I know how talented you are!
Can’t wait to run into you soon!
Andrea
I LOVED coming to the sneak peek party! This house is incredible. I want to move in. All of your hard work totally paid off. Now you need to party and take a long nap!
The whole house just sparkles and pops! I enjoyed this home FAR more than a usual Home Show house because this place was original, unique, and full of heart!!!
These are some items I wish I could find: 1) the X-base cocktail tables in the living room, 2) the chandeliers over the table and in the office, 3) the occasional tables in the office between the ghost chairs and the one by the swing on the porch. Any sources on these you could tell us??? THANKS!
Both of those light fixtures are custom. The one in the dining room is by a local guy named Bryan Bush. The one in the office was made by Jen. I think she posted the tutorial a few months back.
There’s Jen’s tutorial: http://tatertotsandjello.com/2012/06/make-a-beachy-wood-bead-chandelier-tutorial.html
Wow! The house is just beautiful! Great job all! I’m a sucker for a clean, beachy look, but I must confess – the nursery is my favorite room! I can’t wait to hear more about how it came together and the names of the fabrics.
Incredible! You all did an amazing job. I’m still bummed I couldn’t come see it the other nite!
W O W!! I knew this house would be awesome but you guys really exceeded my expectations (and that’s saying a lot)!
Gorgeous job on the nursery — I love the colors and the art so much!! And how wonderful that you were able to honor that brave little girl with such a beautiful room.
Excellent work!!

Hey Char, I got to see the home today & it turned out SO fun. I loved the nursery so much that I included a pic of it in my Parade highlights post today. I’m so impressed that you restyled the crib & made some of the bedding. The Sound of Music has been a family favorite of ours for years, so the quote above the crib made me smile. Great job!
Warmly, Michelle
Oh-my-goodness-gracious it’s even better than I had hoped! Its so beautiful, you all did an amazing job!
Have fun at your party!!!!
This is amazing!!! When I grow up…I totally want to be like you;)
It all looks fantastic ! You are all so talented…
I had two questions, the person who purchases the house, do they get all the items the house has been furnished / decorated with ?
And in the boys room , where is that dog from ( the one the headphones is resting on), my son would love that!
They can negotiate/ask for items in the house, but they’re not necessarily included. I’m pretty sure the dog came from Home Goods. I’ll report back if that’s not correct.
Oh how I wish, I lost my house a couple of years ago and I don’t think I will ever own one again. Congradulations and many happy years.
this house had me at HELLO! The exterior colors are so perfect. What a wonderful job all of you did on this project.
Where did you get the rug in the nursery from?
The designer picked that up. I’ll see what I can find out.
I love the house it turned out great. Sombody is going to get a really special house.
I have one question i have been looking for some bedding for my sons room and i really like the black and white bedding in the boys room where did you find it??
The duvet cover came from IKEA. The strip of Pac Man fabric was added.
This house was so much fun to visit. It is even better in person than the blog pictures and those are pretty stunning,
Do you know where the stripe pillows in the living room are from? Where did the kitchen valance fabric come from or what brand is it?
Please share what the name of the granite is on kitchen counters.
Thanks
It’s Kashmir white.
Just great. Just found on Pinterest. Do you know the colors of the exterior and the color of the front door?
I know i am really late with this comment but do you have any idea the paint colors used on the house?? We are getting our house painted next week and this house is exactly what i want mine to look like. Any help would be great!! Thanks
Who built the home? I’d love to see floor plans
