It’s been 2 full years since the debut of my tiered skirt tutorial. But, last week in Omaha, my niece needed a little somethin’ somethin’ to wear to her birthday bash. What do you make for a girl who requested a Cars cake for her 3rd birthday?
A Cars skirt, of course. If you’re a beginner sewist (we don’t say sewer, remember?), this is a good one to try. I was at Hobby Lobby buying fabric shortly after they opened at 9 and this skirt was being worn before noon. And the total cost including elastic and tax? $6.47.
Have you made my tiered skirt? I’d love to see it!

The link is not to a tiered skirt tutorial, but it is an adorable boy in a Christmas tree outfit … close enough!
Oopsie! Trying to do too many things at once, obviously!
I love making my daughter’s clothes for exactly that reason. I can make her a dress for around $10 instead of spending $30.
I haven’t made it yet, but I certainly need to try!
Adorable. My daughter when she was that age loved the Niinja Turtles and the Power Rangers. hee!
So cute….I will need to make one for my niece when she gets a bit bigger. Omaha rocks! (I am an Omaha girl) Thanks.
