Here’s another Dollar Store Challenge project!
Supplies:
Frames ($1 each)
Silverware (2 for $1)
Spray paint
Fabric
Batting
Hot glue
Take apart your frames, removing the glass and the backing. Spray paint them and the silverware.
While that’s drying, cut out a piece of batting the same size as the backing of your frame.

I used a little bit of Fabri-Tac to hold mine in place. You could use hot glue or spray adhesive or get really crazy and not use anything!
Cut a piece of fabric slightly larger than your backing piece.

Glue the edges up onto your backing.
The corners don’t have to be super fabulous because the frame will cover them.
Put the fabric covered backing into the frame.
Position your silverware on top.
Hot glue in place, and you’re done!

That is brilliant! Really. I love this SO much.
This is such a great idea that I am definitely going to do a set to match my kitchen for over our breakfast table! Love it. You are so creative and quite ingenious…thanks so much for sharing.
Peace & Love,
~Barb~
This is awesome. I'll have to try it. Thanks for sharing.
This is so clever! I have a random thin wall between the cabinets and the pantry, and I haven't a good idea what to put there. Silverware! Genius! Thanks for sharing!
ha, I have that fabric sitting right in front of me and it is one of my favorites. I love what you did with it. LOVE LOVE it with the red!
I love this, Char! I totally want to do this now.
This is fabulous!!
Adorable, I LOVE anything with utensils!
How cute! I love it, red silverware. Awesome.
This is such a fun idea….Love your color choices.
Very Cute! And the red you did is one of my favorites! I love it!!
Girl, you're too good. I had to come and see what you'd done when I saw you were in CSI too. Very nice!
LOVE it! Thanks so much for sharing!
this is really cool!
This is awesome! I love the colors that you used!
Adorable….I love it!!
Holy crap, I think I just found out what we can put up on that big "wall" (back of the cupboards) above the bar area in our dining room! I've been trying to think of something for YEARS! Jehremy even asked me just the other week to go shopping to find something to put up there. Now to just figure out an awesome color scheme….
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
And it even matches my kitchen! I need CHAR! I need! Awesome chica!
cute cute Char! I was actually just thinking about you yesterday wondering how you keep your house clean, take care of the kids, appear on TV AND have time to craft! Impressive! I need to get my act together! (I was thinking this while I was vacuuming).
I think that this is the one to beat…pretty much awesome. I loved yours the most…and I even linked up, so that say a lot!

Just Another Day in Paradise
You are right, they do match the CSI Project button. These turned out cute. I just came from Dollar Tree. I look around at everything & wonder how all of you come up with you creative ideas. But I'm glad you do, cause then I can copy. I may have to copy you. Thanks for visiting my thesaurus book wreath & leaving me a comment.
Very cool. It is so retro looking to with your color choices!
Cute idea! I may have to "steal" it for my own kitchen. Now I need to figure out how to make a mother's day project out of it for my students at school!
How freakin clever!
I LOVE this. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I'm totally adding this to my list!
Super cute!!! I love it!
Love it! I love that color combination — red and turquoise. I have that fabric and it is one of my favorites!
Darling Project!
XOXO

I LOVE the colors you chose! The red makes the silverware look plastic-y and it reminds me of the kid play kitchen dinnerware in pre-school/kindergarden. So kitchy! I love it! Simple too! I would love to try this!
Saw this on The CSI Project =)
Love it!! I definitely need to carve out a niche to make more "crap."
oh dear. this is a great one!!
Aw dangit, how am I supposed to win the $ store challenge when you keep entering cute stuff like this?
So cute!! I love the pops of red. I sort of have a silverware theme going on in my kitchen, and it's too bad I don't have any more room for art, because this would be next. Adore the retro feel!
Looks great!
I am in love with these. The idea is brilliant and the colors are fantastic! Totally Inspired thanks!
Cute! Love the other store project (star serving trays_) too!
That is very cute!
That is so completely adorable. Love the whole thing! Let's see … what else in my kitchen can I paint and display in a frame?
Freaking CUTE!!! I AM SO DOING THIS… in black and white damask! THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR BRILIANT-NESS! jENN
such a cute, colorful idea. i had to check the comments to see if anyone else mentioned something i noticed. laughing at myself because i guess i'm the only one to want the knife edge facing left with the spoon to the right and the fork on the left. i see that the two pictures are symmetrical, it's just that the one on the left is not positioned as my home ec teacher taught me eons (any i mean eons) ago. guess i have some OCD showing thru. your kitchen art sure looks cute!
LOVE THIS so much!!!
Gah! LOVE this….and so will my friend once I make it for her kitchen! Thanks so much – you are so stinkin' talented.
Hey, Thanks for a great idea! I made one today and have it hung and posted on my blog. Take Care
This is FAB. I can totally make this. And when I get tired of it, I won't feel bad about putting it away! You are so creative!

Too cute! I love this blog and your sense of humor (i believe you need it, lol)
A great idea for my kitchen, thanks.

I absolutely love this idea! I've been looking for some art to put above my kitchen sink but I haven't had any luck finding something I liked that was affordable. This just won!
WOW!!
Very simple e beautiful.

This is where I saw this.
I saw this back in the summer and loved it and kept the idea in my head. I created my own version for my kitchen and just love it.
Thank you for the idea.
(You can see my version here if you like: http://coleybelle.blogspot.com/2010/08/kitchen.html )
AMAZING! I thought about doing this the other day, and I was thinking surely someone's already done this and I stumbled upon this today. This is an amazing project!
ACK! We are redoing our kitchen this summer… this WILL be done it is sooo freakin cool
What a great way to decorate a kitchen! I've run out of kitchen decor ideas but this is my next one. Thanks!
I LOVE this and I'm totally making one asap.. I have issues with kitchen decor. LOL

This is such a cute, simple idea! I included it in our Dollar Store Crafts Roundup on the FaveCrafts Blog: http://www.favecraftsblog.com/link-love-diy-dollar-store/
Let me know if you’re ever interested in publishing tutorials with us!
I saw this on Pinterest and just created a set for my kitchen. I had some old fabric from my grandma’s sewing basket and I don’t sew, so I was looking for something cool to do with it and this was perfect. Love SO much. Thanks for sharing!
this is awesome!
I did something with the same idea- Just used plastic utensils- much cheaper!
I am doing this with my grandfather’s old silverware so I will skip the spray paint and putting in a shadowbox frame. The material background will be an old cup towel from his house.
Definitely making this tomorrow. Then I will send one to my mother in law. She adores me thank god. Pretty sure it’s all the crafty gifts I send though.
