My apologies to Krylon

I saw these on a blog (the name of which I cannot remember for the life of me) a while back and fell madly in love. I saved the picture for inspiration and left a comment asking where they came from. I went back every day for weeks….nothin’.

I Googled every name for that color I could think of. Still nothin’.
I searched locally at every store I could think of. I found a matching frying pan at HomeGoods, but still no canisters.
Until today.
I was at Hobby Lobby and turned down a wrong aisle. I found some off white canisters on clearance. And then I took some spray paint to them.
And they are PERFECT! (And a much nicer color in real life….I loaned out our good camera so this is what you get.)
I used Krylon and it was great. I rescind everything I said in this post.
And BC’s in Cincinnati again. Apparently him being out of town makes me spray paint things. Weird.

I bought the same canisters at Hobby Lobby last week! What a great deal! I haven't decided what to do with mine but yours turned out great!

The post you linked to cracks me up because I so feel the same way. Rustoleum and Valspar are the only brands I've had good luck. And I always leave Walmart cursing….the two times a year I go as well. The canisters look great.

  3. Yeah! It's always so fun to finally find something you've been looking for.

  4. Miss Madison's Mommy says:

  6. your canisters look so pretty! i might just have to run to HL and get some for my own kitchen!

i prefer krylon- i've never had a problem with it. they have the best sprayer button thing-y and it smells the least offensive (valspar being the worst).

  7. great color!!! I'm so glad you found something even better than you were looking for!

  8. Al, Wendy, Max, and Lil says:

Dang I need to check out hobby lobby and see if there are any left! Those are awesome! :)

  15. They turned out great! I suck at spray painting…too impatient??? I don't know… but you made them awesome!

  16. I'm glad you've changed your mind on them. I'm always sad you had issues with them. They are always awesome for me :P

  17. Emily Hyte says:

They look great, but here's what caught my attention: is that thing under them one of those pads from a hospital?? Don't get me wrong, my neighbor is a nurse and I have had her bring some over for me when I have a painting project, but it cracks me up that it made it into the picture. Like no one would notice…

  18. Joni Walton says:

That give me a great idea! Thanks!

  19. You mad spray painter, you!

PS – Your letters are almost done. :)

  21. Allred Family says:

  22. The Mangerchine's says:

  23. What's Normal? says:

I believe those are mine. i really wanted new ones…couldn't afford any…so took the spray paint to them. love them. hope you enjoy yours as well.

i am also trying to decide if i want to put vinyl on the outside…flour, sugar, etc.

  24. I want to paint my canisters now! They have some design on them but I think the paint would cover it. So what tips can you give me?? Should I sand them? apply how many coats? Rustoleum is better?? What KIND of paint?? I want RED!
