Whilst I was at Abode, I picked up this beauty:
It’s a wallpaper sample book. At first look, it was frightening.
But, the more I thought about it, the more I thought I could make something fabulous. The result?
Wallpaper Pennant Bunting
Supplies:
Wallpaper
Double fold bias tape
Sewing machine
Pennant template (you can make it whatever size you want, but I’m including mine for those who are feeling especially lazy)
I’m sure you’ve seen this general concept before, so this will be brief.
Cut out pennant shapes from your wallpaper.
Bias tape has one side slightly shorter than the other.
You want the short side on top.
I like to leave about a 4” tail on the bias tape for hanging purposes.
Stitch the pennant pieces inside the bias tape. I used a long straight stitch but a zig zag would be cute, too.
When you get to the end of that piece, put another one in. Continue until you reach your desired length.
Add another one, if you want.
The perfect finishing touch?
This printable from the girls at eighteen25.
‘Scuse me whilst I go stare at my mantel for a bit.

Char- i LOVE it. And with the green shutters and the print? Swoon!
xoxo,
Amy
Love it! WordPress is definitely better than Blogger, even with the learning curve, it hasn’t been down for almost a full day!
how do you get anything done now? i would just stand there all day staring at my mantel if it was oh-so-pretty. haha. thanks for linking to us.
I have always wanted a wallpaper sample book, but have never been the lucky finder of one.
WOOT! I love that I can comment!!! This is so cute! LOVE the green shutters….I made my headboard out of shutters and painted them green….this makes me want to distress them:-)
Fun! I love your shutters!
I love that printable (and your whole set up), but is it grammatically correct? seems like it should say “whom” instead of “who”. but I am not an english major or anything! I just sounds off to me. anybody else think it’s incorrect? i’m just curious… not that it’s a big deal or anything! i still love it and I know it’s not something you made. i feel like a jerk now!
I don’t know, Bethany. I was a math major.
Love it!!!!
Awesomeness!! I love the fresh Spring/Summer colors.
I love that they made that printable to perfectly match your shutters.
I still don’t think it is as cute as when your professed your love to me though.
Just sayin’!
I love it! And those shutters are gorgeous! I have a thing for shutters too. Have an awesome weekend!
YES! I absolutely love this. I’m loving anything that has to do with pennants/banners but I LOVE how they look on your green shutters!! I also love that print from eighteen25 and have that framed in my house too.
Can I come over and just stare at your mantle too?
Mantle staring party! Who’s in? PS we have more wallpaper books!
I love how you make those shutters look amazing all year round. The old wall paper book? Genius! The printable looks great too. You rocked it Char!

I love it! Great color green on the shutters and the pennants are adorable! Thanks for sharing the idea!
Now this is just too cute. And I love the framed quote: is that something you made as well or did you purchase it somewhere?
The girls at eighteen25 made it. There’s a link in my post to the printable and then you just send it to your local photo center. I paid under $5 at Sam’s Club.
You are so talented! I love your blog!
This whole thing is seriously amazing, Char! You have such a way with color – a girl after my own heart!
You are an inspiration! I just did my mantle to look pretty much like yours…
That’s so cute! Saves loads of mucking about with hems!
