2010, in review

So, you know how all the really good blogs are doing a “Top 10” post? Those bloggers are obviously smarter than me and figured out how to install Google Analytics correctly. Mine didn’t start working until August and Stat Counter is ghetto more simple than that, so I’ve got nothing “official”.

I do, however, want to show you all this little gem from Stat Counter:

It’s been quite a ride. I’m thankful and overwhelmed.

Thank you for choosing to come here and read.

Thank you for saying hi to me when you see me out and about (even when I haven’t showered Winking smile).

Thank you for the kind emails.

2010 Highlights

My personal favorites…there’s nothing scientific about this!

My favorite post of the year (not a craft in sight…just me waxing philosophical).

Well hello there, internet

How was your Christmas?

Ours was fabulous. Everyone got something they loved:

(Yes, he asked for one.)

It’s really too bad I didn’t get a pic of BC opening his Xbox Kinect. He was SURE he wasn’t getting one, on account of my undying hatred for video games and a credit card disaster earlier in the week. (Dear Chase, I still hate you.) He might have had the most surprised face of the day.

And one person was not too thrilled about what this gift implies:

Mom got a new camera lens. People got sick of that real quick, too.

(But look at my fancy bokeh!)

I’ll be back tomorrow with a year end wrap up. Hope you’re continuing to enjoy your holidays!

In the mean time, Dee Dee did a little one question interview with me. Go see my scintillating answer to “What do you want to accomplish in 2011?”

And the winner of the Cozy Toesies made by abbiesolutely herself is…

#65, aka Randi, who said:

“Still left to do – finish baking cookies and brownies, create fabulous stockings (we let each girl make a new one every year, this might be passed over this year though), wrap a few presents, take my mom shopping (she doesn’t drive so I have to take her) and ship a box to the out of state family. Oh and I’m working non stop right now……..we’ll see what actually gets done.”

And, because the original MollyGear winner didn’t claim her prize, the new winner is…

#119, aka Stephanie, who said:

“I haul some of my crap (diapers, nursing cover, toys) in an ugly black diaper bag that I got when my oldest daughter was born. Stuff that doesn’t fit in there (primary song book, extra music, DH’s lesson manual) gets stuffed into a canvas tote that I decorated at girls’ camp years ago.”

Giveaway: abbiesolutely!

Meet Abbie from abbiesolutely!

Abbie is a chemical engineer turned stay at home mom. abbiesolutely is her cute little Etsy shop.

She’s got some darling (and cheap!) printable games:

And a couple of patterns, too. There’s her child’s soft chair pattern:

And her latest, the Cozy Toesies and Comfort Wrap pattern:

Here’s what Abbie has to say about it:

Cozy Toesies are fleece slippers with an enclosure on the sole for an insert. The Comfort Wrap also has an insert and can be worn around the neck, over the shoulder, on the stomach or anywhere you need relief.

Use them hot to warm up, stimulate circulation, relax muscles or relieve stress, tension or pain.

Use them cold to cool down or reduce minor swelling.

So, what’s in it for you?

Abbie is giving one lucky Crap I’ve Made reader the Cozy Toesies pattern and another lucky reader a set (in off white, like the picture, you choose the size) that she’s already sewn up!

Click on over to abbiesolutely and have a look around. Come back and leave a comment ON THIS POST saying who you’d make some Cozy Toesies for.

Confess how much shopping you still have to get completed for Christmas.

***Giveaway closes Friday, December 24th at midnight MST. The pattern can be sent to anyone, but you must be a resident of the U.S. to receive the physical items!***

Pimp My Violin, part 2

***Don’t forget to enter the Say It On The Wall giveaway here.***

(Part 1 is here.)

Between Pier 1 events on Wednesday (more on that later), we put the finishing touches on Macy’s violin.

Her orchestra teacher is a DARLING lady who puts her heart and soul (and eardrums) into teaching elementary kids how to play. She’s got patience I can only dream of and is always happy and positive and encouraging. So, here’s what we did:

I think Bonnie liked it. She made Macy take off the shoulder rest and hold the violin up during the performance. And I heard she took a picture of it, too.

I used my Silhouette to cut the vinyl. The tree and star are a download and the heart comes with the machine. I love that it’s so easy to stretch/change a design to fit your space…even if that space is the bottom of a violin. Winking smile

Silhouette is offering 10% off all vinyl purchases using code “CRAP” through the end of the month.
